The Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, is a 5-star luxury hotel in the central Silom district of the city. The design and appointments express the welcoming warmth and richness of Thai culture throughout the hotel, from traditional teak dining pavilions to the most up-to-date room features.

The hotel has a total of 799 rooms including 52 suites in two wings, Shangri-La and Krungthep, and is adjacent to the Saphan Taksin station of the Skytrain, Bangkok’s elevated metro system.

The Krungthep Wing also offers 12 serviced apartments for long-term stays, with full use of hotel facilities and services, including signing privileges.

With a commitment to provide superior facilities and services, the Hotel is upgrading the Shangri-La Wing's restaurants and swimming pool from July to November 2008.  The Hotel will continue to operate as usual with uninterrupted service.  Disruptions will be kept to a minimum, and alternative facilities will be available. 

Work is confined to the Shangri-La Wing only.  Detached from the main wing, the deluxe Krungthep Wing offers privacy and quiet luxury with personal butler service, lounge privileges and a private riverside pool.
