Exploring Xian
The Goose Pagodas are two of the finest remaining Buddhist sites in the city centre. The Small Wild Goose Pagoda, build in 707 AD, originally had 15 storeys, but the top two storeys collapsed in an earthquake in 1555. Visitors can climb to the top of the pagoda through an interior staircase leading to a sweeping view of Xian. The two Goose Pagodas are separately located in the southern part of the city.
